How much does new flooring cost in Los Angeles?
For most LA homes, installed flooring runs roughly $8 to $20 per square foot depending on the material: LVP and basic tile sit at the lower end, while solid hardwood, large-format porcelain, and natural stone push higher. Subfloor leveling or moisture remediation adds to that. We give you a fixed itemized price after measuring, so the number you approve is the number you pay.
Can you refinish my existing hardwood instead of replacing it?
In most cases, yes. If your solid hardwood has at least 1/8 inch of wear layer left, we can sand and refinish it for a fraction of replacement cost. During the in-home measure we check the board thickness and prior refinishes to confirm whether refinishing or replacement is the better call.
What's the difference between engineered wood and LVP for a home in the Valley?
Engineered wood gives you a real hardwood surface that handles LA's dry heat and humidity swings better than solid wood, and it can often be refinished once. LVP is fully waterproof, more scratch-resistant, and usually cheaper, which makes it a strong pick for kitchens, baths, and homes with kids or pets. We'll match the material to how each room actually gets used.
Do I need a permit to replace my flooring?
A straight flooring swap usually doesn't require a permit, but structural subfloor repairs, moisture-barrier work over a slab, or changes tied to a larger remodel often do. We handle permits when they're needed so the work is inspected and up to code, and we tell you upfront whether your job requires one.
How long does a flooring project take?
A single room is often done in 2 to 4 days, while a whole-home install typically runs 1 to 2 weeks depending on square footage, subfloor prep, and whether tile or stone needs curing time. Because our own crews do the work rather than subcontractors, we hold to the schedule we give you at quoting.
