How much does a paver project cost in Los Angeles?

Are pavers better than poured concrete?
For most LA homes, yes. Pavers flex with our soil movement instead of cracking in one big slab, individual units can be lifted and reset if a root or settling causes a dip, and the finished look is far more custom. Concrete can be cheaper upfront, but pavers usually win on longevity and repairability, which is why they hold resale value well.
Do I need a permit for a paver driveway or retaining wall?
A standard at-grade paver driveway or patio usually doesn't need a permit, but retaining walls over 4 feet, walls holding a surcharge, and work affecting drainage or the public right-of-way typically do. Will my pavers sink, shift, or grow weeds over time?
That almost always comes down to base and joint work, not the pavers themselves. We build a deep compacted aggregate base with correct slope and lock the joints with polymeric sand, which resists weeds and washout. How long does a paver installation take?
